Sheikh Zahed Mosque

Last night I took the public bus from Dubai to Abu Dhabi to stay with my friend Janine who I met in Cuba. She picked me up from the station, took me on a little cruise around the city past various palaces and 7 star hotels and then to her very nice flat. Woke up this morning to a note with some places I should visit while she’s at work, a guide book and the tea drawer open – perfect! There’s no metro and she’s never taken a bus so my only option is taxi everywhere..oh well!!! First stop was the mosque. Wasn’t expecting this – incredible!!!!

Very strict dress code applies here, so first ladies must go to the dressing room to borrow something more appropriate…

Check me out haha! Walked through the entrance to the first square.

And then to the next entrance where you have to leave your shoes…

And hop quickly inside as the floor’s quite hot!

Walked around inside with all the other tourists following the set route before coming back to the entrance..

Put my shoes back on, new outfit off and back for a last look at the front.
