Burj Khalifa

Which is the tallest building in the world?

image

And guess who went up to the 124th floor today?

I’d booked my ticket online as it was a quarter of the price as on the day. I was quite late for my 1pm timeslot though, as the walk to the mall from the Dubai mall metro stop was about a mile long, followed by another 15 mins trying to find the place. You’d think spotting the entrance to the tallest tower would be easy but you follow one sign, then another points a different way. That place is mental! Luckily they didn’t seem to care and I was let into the waiting area where they show off how tall they are..

And their inspiration for such a tower.

Before getting the lift up up up…

Was the same view as you get on a  plane coming into land. And we weren’t even at the top!

They had all these telescopes to look at the view and say what the buildings were, to see it at night and also to see what it used to look like. Basically wherever there’s now towers used to be desert.

Gone!

Spent the rest of the day lost in the mall and admiring the huge aquarium.

So good, they have every shop you could ever think of..didn’t buy anything but did some good research for when I’m back!
